I recently changed my phone from an iPhone 4S to an HTC M8, and now bluetooth doesn't connect through the touchscreen, I have to wait for it to try (and fail) to connect, then connect through my phone's settings. I feel like it was pairing properly before I upgraded to the newest kit kat, but I'm not sure. Anyone else have issues with their MyFord Touch and android?

I had a Fusion rental a couple months ago and getting my LG G2 to pair up to it was more fiddly than necessary. The manual had a similar message about having it try and fail to connect, but that didn't actually work.

I ended up having to reset it to factory settings or something like that to clear out all the other phones that had been paired up with it by previous renters, and start from scratch pairing up my phone.

Maybe I just need to reset it, I just added my phone and cleared out my old iphone.

Nope, I connect my phone to MyFord Touch systems all day long to show it to customers. Are you pressing connect on both the phone and the screen at the same time?

From experience, I will never get a ford car with MFT ever again. Reliability, support, ease of use, all were garbage.

I swear their pre-MFT system is better. I have it in my Taurus SHO and have nowhere near the complaints anyone has with MFT.

Don't even get me started on them sneaking thousands of cars w/o nav through, with just a compass.

On another note, I've considered picking up a used M7, good idea?

I'm just starting it up and letting it automatically connect. This worked fine with my 4s.

Get the M8, there is a newer version coming soon (dammit) and the prices might drop a bit. The M7 doesn't have expandable memory, although that's all I know about it really. I like the HTC sense skin though, and I imagine it's similar.

I will be excited when manufacturers make screen mirroring an option, that is the best case for car infotainment.

Ah, non-expandable memory is kind of a downer, although 32gb's sounds like plenty to me.

I take it the battery on the M8 isn't removable either?

Weird. I have no issues having my M8 connect. It works better than my G3 or Note 2 since on the M8 it automatically defaults to having the steering wheel buttons control the audio app whereas on the other two phones I have to start the audio on the phone before the buttons work.

Maybe reset sync? That happens every time you flash a new map if you have an AP. If you don't there's a fuse you can pull...instructions in the forums.

currently running AppRadio 3 with miracast. Automatically mirrors my phone as soon as I get in my car. Along with my LG g2 and its huge battery it's the best setup I've ever used in a car.
